My view on design

Ways to view design. We need to look at design in different angles. Expanding our view will open new windows ways can help our audience see other approaches in art. This is a photo I took last week of my rooster with close up to show his face!!!

ALL ABOUT COLOR!!!

This was my test not too bad!!!

So this is my color wheel that I designed. I wanted to put a little color on each angle of the wheel. I measured each and every triangle to be 1 inch tall and used the 90 degree angle ruler to make sure each one is straight. I had the hardest time with the yellow getting each one to stand out from the next one!!

 Here is the scanned copy!!!!

Value

This was my creation of value. I used many copies of the photo copied wrapping paper that was originally shinny purple for by background! I really like the look it gave nad helped to pop out my image of me.  I then used a couple other images one the photo puzzle and more wrapping paper just lighter. I then moved ont othe face. I game my face two different color values. One is for normal face sight and the darker is the we see sometimes and sometimes stands in shadow and confusement.
My eyes nose and mouth were just photo copied and the hair was brought out with stained glass color. When I look at my face in the image it says oh my what is this?

Illusion of Motion!!!!

This is my take of stillness to motion. These two humans are standing still but you can really see the wind blowing right through them as they sit. Martine Rhyner is the artist done with oil on canvas 2010. It name is "Legacy of Water". I really liked this so much and really captured the motion illusion fro me.

This is the "Back dive" of 1954 by Harold Edgerton who I feel is using the multiple image use by showing each step of a back dive. I found this from his digital collection and really liked this as I used to do diving when I was little. Each step of the way really gives the feeling of motion.

This image fits my description of blurred outlines. Both images showing communication which is motion but on both images you can't make out the details very well. This was done on wet canvas taken from photographic idiosyncracies. There was no date on this. I really like how the gestures were both seen very well by both people here.

Illusion of Space!!

This is my take on the Different point of view.It is called "Sabine" taken from the NY ART magaizine from April 2010. It is a oil on Canvas. I feel as it fits the different point of view as we are looking at the figure looking the backside as the human is rubbing his head. The use of the darks and grays really give us a sense of depth and line use. This me feels very sad and detailed with each line and color to give us a feeling of a dark and almost like a cave look.

This image is about the use of exaggerated size. This is from Charles Billich from Jan 19 2010 from the "Art Fairs International".
I really like this a lot with the use of the Size being exaggerated with portion to the humans. The painting size is so huge compared to the humans. The carridor is very huge to fit the painting that are all laid out so nicely. I like how they put one of the painting being moved too.

This is a image done by Keith Kottingham from constructed photographs. It called "untitled 2004 from NY ART WORLD.com  I feel as this really shows 2 point perspective  by how each point the triangular ceiling to the side wall on each side. It just feels a though we easily get a feel of depth with in each side of the wall and the pews. I like the fact there are no people in the strucural as it would ruin the depth feeling.

Patterns and texture!!

Textures

This tookj a lot of time to scan every item but in the end was all good and fun. I think the hardest was collecting the chicken feather for this and scanning the sea shells. I have many items I found in my room that I was able to scan. This stain glass is something I made in high school. It is interesting how when you bump up the contrast in gray scale how the object still looks real.

Shape and Volume blog

Shape and Volume

This is my grandfather old antique kid chair that is about 70 years old holding my digital picture frame. I thought this was a cool age difference to show. The is chair as you can see has many textures that show volume and shape that in unique.

This piece is a close up of the chair with it tipping a little. The flowers seems to be falling as it is tipping a little. I thought it was a interesting effect.

This is a very interesting image as I have the flower vase resting on the grids of the chair to give the flowers volume. It seems to help with the shrinking and volume to the image that are all touching all corners as it was cropped. In this image I put in a close background and changed the perspective view so it seemed as it was right in your face. .

continue Of Line

LINE

This is my dry media fro the 2 D object. I choose binoculars as my second favorite object. I thought the blind drawing was the hardest part.

Ok here it is! First left is the tempora, then ink(my favorite) bottom left is charcoal and least favorite was the watercolor. Due to my scanner size some of these got a very tiny edge cut off.

LINE

This is my first page using Dry media to show different emotions I am feeling.

This is my second page using dry media expressing verbs with line. I really liked using the ink and the tempera paint in this one. One of my images made character but kept the line still.

Tina's Bio

Going back to college again after many years to me was a huge challenge and a new start fro me in my life. Finding the right direction in my college life has been a really tough part in my years of college. Our economy has changed so much and so has our technology which has really helped me to make a change in my life. So a few years ago I decided to do Graphic Design. Having my close friends to encourage me has really encouraged me to go for my dream. So now learning fro meach other in this class is fun and encouraging to help each other.
Moving from the dream state to my realaity is my wonderful children who have significant needs and many supports are needed for them. So my everyday life is filled with obstacles each day. Doing design and learning the different aspects helps me to regulate my self from love for art and my reality life.
My life started out  difficult. I  lost my mom very young but made me strong and to be assertive to me and my choices in life. This picture here represents me in the color of many choices and the indian feather on the right is for the courage I face every day. My eyes and sutle expression gives you an idea of stress and the love I have for the world we live in.
I now live in a cute little house in a natures palace of wildlife and love to live off my land with gardens, chickens and blueberry bushes. In the next year, I hope gains will be  made to give me and my kids strength to grow. I want them become part of this tough society to be independent in the life they will lead to find their own dreams.

Rhythm

I chose to do my first part on taste!

I chose the Sense of Taste for my project. In my grid I have four Pictures that ulalize what it word represents. I chose sweet, sour, spicy, foul taste. I chose this cause I love cooking so much and is a good challenge for me. I thought these foods and were well represented. The first pictures I took last Summer strawberry picking and the other came from clipart.com which is a paid subscription.

Sweet

Sour

   Spicy

  Mould taste

This my fifth design using my Strawberry as a base for the design more work needed but here is a start. It looks like a strawberry checkerboard.

Rhythm

This image to me makes me see Rhythm for me is the Sun orange image because the way you see a path of light that goes from one circle to the next small circle. Both elements follow a nice line and to connect each other so nicely. The foreground and the horizon color connect really nicely with each other too.

In the absence of the Focal point we see Different colored line horizontal and vertical across the image numerous way with many shades of colors. I feel as though this gives us rhythm to balance our lines across the image. The colors also blened together each show us rhythm also feel unique.

Balance

This is part one of the project so far. I used lots of kitchen gadgets, Fork spear,Cookies cutters, cheese cutter, wide knife, wine opener, butter knife rooster cutter knife. You could say this was all about tools for the kitchen

Challenging but fun project!

This is my Woman and dog image> I used the hoof pick and can opener for the legs and built the body upwards. The Wrench worked as hands that are over sized.  The forks worked as the trees behind them and the stalk of the fork seemed to be a great model fro showing the road to balance them out. It was fun and took a few treys to make a picture out of these objects. Hope you all enjoy this!!!

Scale and Proportion

This is my project I came up with. First of all I don't like spiders but love the water and boats. This is the Harbor by Backbay in Boston, Ma. I came up with this idea by think about movies and unwanted huge insects. Hope you enjoy this and felt this showed the very large size compared to the small humans we are even in a big city atmosphere!!!

Emphasis and focal point
I chose my focal point emphasis on a favorite of mine Pablo Picasso. This is named the
The old Guitarist  for the obvious reason. I view many many images but this seem to fit the
psychological much better. The old man sitting on the steps gets us the feeling about aging.Having the gray and dark olive give the deep feeling of sadness and losing hope. He seems to be falling down low as he wants use to see him as a aging man that is still playing to keep alive. Colors play a role in how we see the psychological ole with our emotions on art and life.

Absence of focal point
This was my pick for Absence of focal point as we see in this image the line all cross each other and our eyes really don't have a place to focus onto to. This was done by Larionov Mikhail in 1913 and is called"Rayonist Composition. It is a watercolor on paper.

 Placement

This image really shows placement in how each object works with each other in placement.  The tree and the two humans looking through the 3/4 of a box in the water. This one really caught my eye into how each object was place so nicely.  This is a fantasy image with no artist mentioned.

      One Element
This image is the Sun Tunnels which time thought it showed the one element of focal point pretty well in how the in tunnel guided the eye towards the center faster than the bigger tunnel. My eye seems to want to draw towards the light more than size. This came out of a graphic book called LAND ART. The element really shows hows an element can really play in a focal point.

Contrast
This in my image of contrast for the fact that the trees and the snow reflect from each other and the moose seperates the colors between each other. The snow falling off the moose really gives me an impression of movement and back to nature.
Isolation
This picture was taken by. I really think this picture really shows isolation. The ball pit has the two kids watching the teacher engaged with the toy, while the other boy is kind of bored spaced out the window. The boy at the windows is showing separation from the group very nicely. I like how the three kids make a nice triangle with their placement but the boy standing gives some separation from the others.

 WEEK ON UNITY

 Chaos
This image really gave the feeling if chaos where my eyes just don't know where to start.. Unreadable and too much going on at once but cool image too.

Repetition
This image is Repetition with similarity  as the bubbles repeat itself through out the image. It is really cool as the bubbles change color through out the design.

Continuation
This is a fine example of continuation flows from the hand to the cuff drawing making a nice flowing circle that just keep my eye moving. The transition from the  hand to pencil to paper is so wonderful. M.C Escher is just so artistic with his mind and connecting these line so wonderful.

         FIGURATIVE
This is a image of nonobjective work in the way that this has no reference to the natural world. The masks with the hand represent a face of humans but shows some expression but no relevance of an actual realism to what we see in the natural world.

 PROXIMITY
This is my find of an image fro proximity. This shows the closeness of objects with in a close distance of the puzzle pieces. I chose the puzzle pieces cause it really shows how we all fit together in this world to inter twine together.

Here is one of my other projects I did which shows how in design give us depth to our art.
